Homeroom Parent
Homeroom Parents
Homeroom Parents play a key role in supporting our teachers, students, and classroom communities at JBE! By serving as a liaison between the teacher and classroom families, homeroom parents help organize classroom celebrations, assist with teacher appreciation activities, and keep families informed and engaged throughout the school year.
Being a Homeroom Parent is a great opportunity to get involved at JBE, meet other families, and make a direct impact in your child’s classroom experience!
What do Homeroom Parents do?
Homeroom Parent responsibilities may include:
Coordinating class parties and holiday celebrations
Communicating with classroom families about school events, volunteer needs, and donations
Organizing group gifts or appreciation efforts for the teacher (especially during Teacher Appreciation Week in April)
Supporting PTO events by helping recruit volunteers or promote participation
The time commitment varies by class and grade level, but most communication is done by email or text, and tasks can be shared with a co-room parent.
Who Can Volunteer?
Any parent or guardian of a student at JBE is welcome to volunteer as a Homeroom Parent! You don’t need prior experience—just a willingness to help, communicate, and collaborate. Some classes may have one homeroom parent, while others may have a team.
