100 Mile Club
Inspiring Achievement Through Movement
Mission
The mission of The 100 Mile Club is to engage and empower kids and families to achieve a healthy lifestyle through physical activity nationwide; to prevent childhood inactivity and obesity, one child, one school, and one community at a time. At the heart of the 100 Mile Club mission is the belief that every student can set ambitious goals and achieve them through consistent physical activity. Through a uniquely designed incentive program, the 100 Mile Club motivates students, celebrates their milestones, and fosters a strong sense of school-wide community.
The 100 Mile Club is a personal journey, not a competition. Students are encouraged to focus on their own progress rather than compare themselves to others. There are no races between individuals or classes to see who reaches 100 miles first. Instead, the competition is with your biggest rival: yourself. As students reach important milestones, their accomplishments are recognized and celebrated together, creating an environment of encouragement and support.
By participating throughout the school year, students develop lifelong healthy habits while also experiencing meaningful growth in their social-emotional well-being, confidence, perseverance, and academic success.
100 Mile Club Volunteers Needed
Help make our morning runs a success! We need a minimum of 5 parent volunteers in order to safely host our morning runs each Wednesday and Friday from 7:45–8:15 a.m.
Ideally, the club operates best with several parents who know they can commit to Wednesday and/or Friday mornings, and also many more who would like to show up and help out when they can, without a weekly commitment. Volunteers assist with setup and cleanup, safety monitoring around the track, and the scanning of students’ laps.
Be a part of JBE’s most popular club! The student’s LOVE this program and we cannot run without your support!
