Wellness
The Wellness Program
The Wellness Program is one of the core missions of the FOJBE PTO. Run and funded entirely by PTO volunteers our goal is to support the physical emotional and social well-being of all JBE students.
We offer of a variety of activities and programs throughout the year, including:

Trash to treasure projects
Community outreach
Vision and hearing testing support
Character of the month
Grade level wellness workshops
Monthly Wellness Lessons
Each classroom is supported by one to two parent or guardian (DCPS approved) Volunteers who deliver the wellness lessons. These 45 minute sessions are provided once a month in coordination with the homeroom teacher. Lessons may follow the DCPS Character counts program or be tailored to the classes needs volunteers are given all necessary, lesson materials in advance, or they can create their own lessons.
Please note: this program is designed to include in class volunteers. If a class does not have a parent or guardian sign up to deliver the lesson, that class will receive wellness instruction through the school administration.
