Volunteer at JBE
Before You Volunteer
Thank you for supporting Jacksonville Beach Elementary! Whether you're helping in the classroom, chaperoning a field trip, assisting with PTO events during the school day, or volunteering on campus, Duval County Public Schools requires all adult volunteers to be approved before working with students.
Ways to Get Involved at JBE
Our PTO exists because of families like yours. The positions below are essential to bringing many of our favorite events and programs to life. If these roles aren't filled, some activities may not be offered this school year.
Please consider getting involved. Whether you're an experienced volunteer or helping for the first time, we'll provide guidance and support to help you succeed.
Every volunteer makes a difference!
Whether you have one hour a month or several hours a week, there's likely a volunteer opportunity that fits your schedule, interests, and strengths. That’s exactly why we created the Find Your PTO Fit Quiz!
In just a few minutes, you’ll discover PTO opportunities that match you and your availability. Taking the quiz does NOT commit you to volunteering. It simply helps us connect parents with opportunities they may genuinely enjoy.
We appreciate every volunteer who shares their time and talents. Together, you help create amazing experience for our students.
Volunteer Opportunities
Flexible ways to lend a hand throughout the school year.

Help make our morning runs a success! We need a minimum of 5 parent volunteers in order to safely host our morning runs each Wednesday and Friday from 7:45–8:15 a.m.
Ideally, the club operates best with several parents who know they can commit to Wednesday and/or Friday mornings, and also many more who would like to show up and help out when they can, without a weekly commitment. Volunteers assist with setup and cleanup, safety monitoring around the track, and the scanning of students’ laps.
Be a part of JBE’s most popular club! The student’s LOVE this program and we cannot run without your support!

Volunteer Registration at a Glance
Complete the online DCPS Volunteer Registration application.
A criminal background check is required for all new volunteers.
Most applications are processed within 5–10 business days, so please apply well before your planned volunteer date.
Once approved, your volunteer clearance is typically valid for two years.
You'll receive an email letting you know when your application has been approved or if additional information is needed.
Volunteer Levels
Not every volunteer opportunity requires the same level of screening. Duval County Public Schools uses two volunteer levels based on the type of activity.
